Andre' Strong was born and
raised in Washington, D.C., where he first studied acting
as a theater major at the prestigious Duke Ellington
School of the Arts, performing in such plays as Lorraine
Hansberry's "A Raisin in the Sun"
and George C. Wolfe's "The Colored Museum."
In 2001 he moved to upstate New York to continue his
studies at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Theatre
Arts and Film, appearing in such roles as Buddy in
"Native Son," and Booth in "Top
Dog/Under Dog."
In 2005 Andre' returned to the D.C. area where he played
Cassius in the Baltimore, M.D. Theatre Project run of
"Julius X," and acquired such television
and film credits as HBO's critically acclaimed hit series
"The Wire" and "Ring
Shout," winner of the Hip Hop
Odyssey Film Festival "Best New Film"
award. He more recently played the role of Flight in
the feature-film "Jazz in the Diamond District"
(also starring Wood Harris and Clifton Powell.)
Andre'
is also a talented emcee, touring locally and recording
with Hip-Hop group Likeblood Entertainment.
